About Youthought

At Youthought, we’re reimagining emotional wellness through creativity, connection, and joyful discovery.

What if we believed that ALL of our youth ought to have access to preventative wellness—not just after crisis, but long before it?

That’s the belief behind Youthought.

We believe all youth ought to have opportunities for emotional enrichment that are as joyful and accessible as any other part of their day—and as essential as academics. But today’s students are growing up in a culture of constant input and high expectation. They’re inundated by digital distractions, academic pressure, and performance-based extracurriculars—often with little time or space to slow down. They may still know how to play, but they’re losing touch with how to pause.

That’s where Youthought comes in.

Rooted in research and built for real life, Youthought is a preventative wellness program that blends joyful recreation with mindful reflection—giving youth the tools to manage emotions, build resilience, and connect with others. Our unique Play & Pause approach supports mental well-being before students are in crisis.

We believe kids shouldn’t have to choose between being emotionally aware and being active, creative, or social. Our programs make space for both—and meet students where they are: curious, expressive, and capable.

And we’re growing.

Due to popular demand, Youthought’s curriculum is now also available to adults, educators, and caregivers who want to build the same tools for self-awareness, compassion, and calm. Because wellness isn’t just for kids—it’s for anyone ready to press pause and play.

After earning her B.A. in Performing Arts from CSUF, Jen acquired both her music credential and master’s degree in education. During her early teaching years, she helped pioneer the Elementary Vocal Program for OUSD where she inspired several hundred students with her motivational curriculum.

A move to private education aligned with her personal study of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, and in 2021, Jen completed her mindfulness certification in Awareness Training from the Greater Good Science Center. These paths merged and culminated in the development and growth of her innovative Thoughtfulness Program.

  • My experience in Jens program was instrumental in discovering my inner confidence, allowing me to know it was okay to take risks. This newfound confidence has carried over into all aspects of my education and extracurricular activities, leading me to become involved in leadership roles, sports, and community service.

  • The most important thing I’ve learned from YouThought is that if you believe in yourself, people will believe in you, and that you can feel alone but there are so many people who feel the same.
